The Maine Farms Journal will always be special to me, because it was my first real editorial assignment, back in 2016. The founding editor, Ellen Sabina, had seen my work on Instagram and decided to give me a chance.

At the time, I thought being published was the ultimate signal that I’d really made it as a photographer. Ten years in, I now know that magazine work will never pay the bills, but it’s been the best way to meet new people and keep learning.
